Shoko Tamai is an acclaimed choreographer and dancer who shares messages of human connection and environmental consciousness, weaving together dance, music, and visual arts. Since age two, Shoko has mastered various styles like ballet, traditional Japanese and Chinese dance, jazz fusion, African, Middle Eastern, and Indian dance, as well as martial arts, studying with the martial arts trainer for the Beijing Opera. She has studied, performed, and choreographed internationally, receiving numerous awards for her work.

Shoko’s expertise as a teacher spans multiple disciplines — she is a certified
instructor in yoga, pilates, gyrotonics, gyrokinesis, and ballet. Using
this knowledge she developed her own method of holistic healing, Cosmic
Dance, a fusion of improvisational dance, breathwork, and meditation,
designed to create inner-alignment.

Shoko continues to perform, choreograph, direct, and teach individuals and groups of all ages through workshops, seminars, and private lessons all around the world, sharing her passion for the transformative power of dance, and is now also making her debut as a film director to unfold new layers of art

Shoko Tamai's choreography embodies a raw and natural expression that transcends dance forms.
